Corrupt SHP system hurting education

Letters

Southern Highlands’ education system is corrupt with district education advisers accepting bribes to appoint inexperienced junior teachers, fresh out of new and substandard teachers’ colleges, to take up senior positions.
This problem is the result of the absence of a permanent provincial education adviser and a provincial education board chairman. These unfilled positions have effectively given the teacher appointment authority the power to manage appointments in the province.
By taking advantage of the chaos in the province, each district education authority is appointing teachers without following procedures stipulated under the rules that govern the Teaching Service Commission and the national education board.
If the Teaching Service Commission commissioner and loyal education officers in Southern Highlands are reading this letter, please understand that the parents and school children need your help to clean up the system.
