PRIME Minister James Marape says the country does not belong to one person or one party but to the 800 tribes of the land.
Marape attended the United Resources Party (URP) fundraising on Saturday at the Stanley Hotel.
“Papua New Guinea is not the property of one person or one party,” he said.
“For the Pangu Party, we have been there since the start.
“We showed the way in 1975 and we are taking the country back from the wrong road and putting it back on the right road,” he said.
He said Pangu supported the URP and other parties which shared similar policy platforms.
He listed compatibility, assimilation and congruence policies “to ensure that our nation is served better”.
“You never know tomorrow the sun may shine on the URP’s table,” he said.
Marape said his government was happy to work with the URP which had been part of the government coalition in the past three years.
“We want to do better for our children,” he said.
