Couple nabbed over drugs

A COUPLE were arrested in Manus during a dawn raid on Tuesday following information police had received that they were selling marijuana.
Manus police commander Chief Insp David Yapu said the drug was smuggled from Lae in an Air Niugini flight on Monday.
He said the marijuana was concealed in three wheelbarrow tyres and freighted and then transported to Manus.
Chief Insp Yapu said the husband from Morobe and the wife from Manus were both in custody.
He said the street value of the marijuana was between K20,000 and K25,000.
He commended his officers, Air Niugini staff and security personnel at the airport for the teamwork.
