Court makes final adjournment

A COURT has adjourned a case for the last time because police were taking too long to complete investigations and present their case in court.
Magistrate Ernest Wilmot told the Committal Court in Waigani that he had adjourned the case last month against Richard Yopo, the suspended National Airport Corporation (NAC) managing director, pending police investigations.
Yopo is facing charges of official corruption, misappropriation, stealing and abuse of office. He is on a K2,000 bail.
Police Prosecutor Sgt Christian Iga told the court that the matter was still in the three-month period and therefore applied for another adjournment.
Wilmot said it would be adjourned to Dec 2 for the final time.
