Court remands man charged with stealing K19,600

A MAN, 45, charged with stealing K19,600, was remanded by Waigani committal court Magistrate Tracy Ganaii yesterday.
Patrick Clunn, of Kaiau Nara village, in Kairuku, Central, is accused of stealing the amount from Koroka Investment Ltd and is scheduled for reappearance on March 6.
It was alleged that on Nov 29, Clunn pretended to be a salesman for South Pacific Brewery and communicated with Koroka Investment Ltd owner Paul Auo on Facebook, to buy various SP products for his mini shop and Total Service Station at Gabagaba junction along the Magi Highway.
Clunn produced a bank account number in which Auo transferred the money to for the payment of two pallets of Green cans, one pallets of bottles, 35 cartons of Ice beer and 35 cartons of Export cans.
Auo was convinced by Clunn and he went ahead and transferred the money to the account.
Clunn was arrested by the BSP reserve police on Jan 23 and formally arrested and charged.
