The Waigani National Court will hand down its decision today on bail for a lawyer and businessman who allegedly killed his wife in Port Moresby last month.
Deputy Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika will decide if Felix Kange should be granted bail after hearing submissions from his lawyer Canute Nidue yesterday.
Kange 30, from Maia village in Pangia, Southern Highlands, was on Tuesday charged with the murder of his wife at their home on May 14. His original charge was manslaughter.
Nidue sought bail after an application was made in court by the State to raise objection to the application was rejected.
Nidue told the court that it was their first bail application in relation to the murder charge and it was a fresh application.
Kange sought bail through his lawyer on the grounds that he was a practicing lawyer who had a law firm in operation, with his other businesses operating outside Port Moresby.
He argued that he had a six-month-old child who would require his support and also two other children to care for.
