A PRIVATE-public partnership programme has facilitated the training of HIV/AIDS counsellors to upgrade their skill.

The training was funded by the International Education Agency, coordinated by TingimLaip and the National Capital District provincial AIDS council.

The week-long course last week covered topics aimed at equipping a counsellor to provide communities with support, referrals and counselling.

Ten participants from TingimLaip sites at Joyce Bay, Porebada and Murray Barracks attended.

Regional coordinator for southern Judy Tokeimota encouraged them to be agents of change.

“It is up to you to bring forth the change,” she said.

A magistrate from Joyce Bay said the training would help him, particularly with listening skills.
