Covid-19 kills three, total 133

THREE new Covid-19 deaths were reported on Tuesday, bringing the total number of deaths induced by Covid-19 to 133, an official says.
The Covid-19 National Control Centre (NCC) deputy controller said the deaths were all from East New Britain and they were reported only upon receipt of death certificates and case investigation forms (CIFs).
He said 245 new cases were reported on Tuesday upon the receipt of CIF which brought the total number of confirmed cases to 13,242 and the total number of active cases in the past 14 days was 2,114, cumulative recoveries were 10,995. The total tests completed for the Covid-19 was 104,674 and 732 tests were pending laboratory results.
All the 22 provinces are affected, including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
Reported cases might not reflect the current situation in the provinces as more than 60 per cent of these new cases are from two weeks to more than a month ago.
Delays in testing and reporting are still a concern.
In terms of the Covid-19 vaccination as of Monday, 7,518 people were vaccinated of which 3,572 were males and 2,243 females and the total national vaccination coverage was 6.5 per cent.
All 22 provinces, including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, have reported cases.
As of Tuesday, globally there were 159,595,355 cases and 3,317,391 deaths.
