CITY Pharmacy Limited (CPL) Group’s Stop & Shop presented new apparel to Gateway Roosters who compete in the Police Commandant’s Cup at Bomana.
Club co-coordinator Wilson Barauma said their team were made up of 9-Mile youths.
“We registered two teams in A and B grades,” he said.
“We’ve are competing at the Bomana Police College Field. The season started in November.
“Unfortunately, our A-grade team missed out on the top-eight. But our B-grade side have made the grand final, which will be played on Saturday.
“We thank CPL Group, through Stop & Shop, for the timely support, which had boosted our morale in the lead-up to the finals.”
CPL Group representative Oti Lasagavibau said their support was to empower youths to participate meaningfully in the community.
“Sports brings a lot of exposure in terms of potential, skills, knowledge and networking with others which can lead to possible employment or education or even getting selected or identified to participate at the top level,” she said.
“With that, Stop & Shop wishes Gateway Roosters’ B-grade team all the best in their grand final in the competition.”
