CITY Pharmacy Limited is pleased with its first quarter operations, according to director Joe Barberis.
Barberis, pictured, told The National that the company was optimistic about the recovery of the economy.
“CPL is happy with its sales across our pharmacies and supermarkets and hardware businesses. It is a tough environment but we are positioning ourselves for growth,” he said.
“As the Papua New Guinea economy recovers and improves, hopefully CPL will be able to give its customers very good products and at very good prices.
“We are optimistic for the year and you have to be optimistic as this country has so much potential.
“There’s an election half way through the year and hopefully that will produce a strong government and a good government that will continue to see the economy improve.”
He also explained how CPL would be placing an emphasis on stocking appropriate products and improving accessiblitiy for its customers nationwide.
“Our focus is on making sure that we have the products that people want and making it available all the time,” he said.
“In Papua New Guinea, we have a long supply chain. Sometimes it is difficult to get all the products that customers may want.
“We need to do that all the time so customers can always find what they want and to meet the customer demand.”
