CITY Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) Group of companies presented K70,000 to the Port Moresby Nature Park on Thursday to support its efforts in conserving, preserving and protecting Papua New Guinea’s wildlife and flora.
CPL chief executive officer Navin Raju and his team presented the cheque and said company was pleased to be a new sponsor of the park.
“One of our values is to be responsible to our people, community and environment,” he said.
“This partnership is made on our community response strategy to those who are facing challenges during this pandemic.
“We work with a cross-section of society from rural farmers to community organisations who have a greater circle of influence and we believe that Nature Park’s influence is with young citizens.
“We also look forward to working with Nature Park in the future to establish programme to educate our community on the different species of flora, fauna and wildlife in our islands.”
Park general manager David Thompson said CPL’s enhanced sponsorship was a huge effort towards supporting local communities and the park was grateful to receive such support.
The National is also a sponsor of the park. “We are all about helping our communities in educating locals about the importance of protecting PNG’s wildlife,” Thompson said.
“We can now do that and give an insight into what we do here at the park in terms of wildlife conservation through continuous partnerships and support from local businesses such as this.”
He added the park was a charity organisation that relied on grants and donor funding to operate.
