CITY Pharmacy Ltd has treated more than 250,000 people to assist the public health system during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, says founder Sir Mahesh Patel.
He said this to open the festive season shopping with the annual “light up PNG Christmas tree” ceremony.
“Firstly we are thankful for our frontline staff from store keepers to our pharmacists and nurses,” Sir Mahesh said.
“They serve families and communities for their health, food and wellbeing needs.
National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop thanked CPL Group saying such events encouraged peace and harmony in the communities.
“We are still in the pandemic,” Parkop said.
“And we need to be united to fight the Covid-19 by observing all measures and getting vaccinated.
“Events such as this encourage peace and harmony in our communities, and I commend CPL for leading the way as a corporate citizen.”
The ceremony began last year.
A business transformation plan was implemented last year by group chief executive officer Navin Raju under the guidance of Sir Mahesh.
“We thank our shoppers and customers who continue buying from our stores,” Sir Mahesh said.
“This support in energy and revenue enables us to support and sponsor community programmes in women empowerment, small-medium enterprise support and connecting our vast farmers network across PNG to sell fresh produce in our SNS supermarkets.”
