PACIFIC International Hospital (PIH) has partnered Cricket Papua New Guinea (CPNG) which will see the federation receiving medical care from the hospital until the end of next year.
CPNG chief executive Greg Campbell told The National that the hospital was now the naming rights sponsor for the Under-19 national men’s team.
“The partnership for medical services covers the entire CPNG organisation, players and staff,” he said.
“Anything to do medical services, CPNG will be getting them at PIH, including Coronavirus tests for those who will be travelling out of the country.
Campbell said the sponsorship was an enormous help and CPNG was grateful to the hospital.
“We also have the men’s and women’s national teams — the Kumul Petroleum PNG Barramundis and Lewas — who have international tours and events planned,” he said.
“So all their medical tests will be done at PIH under this partnership.”
Meanwhile, Campbell said Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited’s naming rights sponsorship would continue next year.
“It’s an annual sponsorship, so it will continue for the remainder of this year through to the end of 2022,” he said.
Campbell said the federation would close for the festive season and resume its activities in the New Year.
Most cricket activities have been completed except for the U19s who are finalising preparations for next month’s World Cup in the West Indies.
