Cuttters campaign backed by bank

NEW Digicel Cup franchise the Kimbe Cutters recieved K100,000 from Bank South Pacific yesterday.
BSP’s support for the West New Britain rugby league franchise will be over three seasons (2019-2021).West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel was the guest of honour at the ceremony to receive the cheque from the BSP Kimbe branch manager Betty Posangat at the Sasindran Muthuvel Stadium in Kimbe.
Muthuvel said it was a pleasure having BSP on board as a sponsor of the Cutters.
“We are privileged to have our very own commercial bank supporting sports in the community,” Muthuvel said.
“Though rugby league is not new to us, the Cutters are a new team in the competition and we are grateful for the support received that will be instrumental in helping the team in developing skills and share the positive values of the sport.”
Posangat congratulated the Cutters franchise saying her branch was proud to be associated with the provincial team.
“BSP is proud to support the team at this level. The backing is an exciting way to be connected and responsive to the West New Britain community.
“The gesture towards the team is also a reiteration of support the bank provides to communities it operates in,” Posangat said.
Kimbe Cutters board chairman Dominic Kile on behalf of the players also extended their sincere thanks to the bank for the support.
The Cutters are one of two new teams in the expanded Digicel Cup competition in 2019.
