CENTRAL Dabaris five-eighth William Mone says he is confident that his side can reach the Digicel Cup top-six finals after recording impressive back-to-back wins in the last two rounds.
The Central government-sponsored side beat heavyweights Port Moresby Vipers (14-10) and Hela Wigmen (12-8) to give themselves a chance of reaching their maiden finals.
Mone told The National last week that his teammates were eager to continue the momentum.
“I believe we still have a good chance of making it into the top-six before the end of regular season,” the playmaker said.
“Our form is good.
“It’s not impossible to reach the finals.
“We just have to take one game at a time.
“Obviously, the team’s main goal is to reach the finals, so I look forward to doing my best for the team.”
Mone said he was thrilled to form a solid combination with halfback Lote Kuman, rake Presley Soto and fullback Morea Morea Jr.
“I believe our combination is working well,” he said.
“We just have to continue improving in each game.
“I am also happy with our defence. I think we’ve become more courageous compared with previous seasons.”
The Dabaris will now look to record their third win on the trot when they face ladder-leading hosts Mendi Muruks at the Lae Rugby League Ground in the Morobe capital on Sunday for a chance to further their season.
