PNG DataCo Limited last week handed over to the Bulolo police station in Morobe a computer set.
DataCo general manager engineering division Dennis Morrisause handed over a 19-inch monitor, a color printer, a desktop and UPS to police station commander Inspector Leo Kaikas.
Morrisause said the assistance was under the company’s corporate social responsibility.
“DataCo was recently established and 100 per cent State-owned entity,” he said.
“One of the things that we carry as part of the government agency is responsibility in supporting government agencies and also the people.
“That is one of the things that we parked under our corporate social responsibility and we have done few of the similar activities right around the country.”
Morrisause said the request came from the Bulolo police.
“One of the needs that we supply and help our schools, our police and government agencies is try to help them in improving their information technology, or help them improve their administration,” he said.
“And when it was reported that Bulolo police needed help with a computer, we said okay let’s give them something of value.”
Kaikas thanked DataCo for the assistance.
