THE Waigani Committal Court yesterday fixed April 29 for submissions of the case of a man charged with persistent sexual abuse of his two nieces.
Magistrate Garry Unjo also remanded the Eastern Highlands man back to Bomana Prison.
According to the police brief, the man allegedly abused his nieces (both minors) between October and November in his rented room in Port Moresby.
Police alleged that between Oct 1 and Nov 22, the man abused the victims numerous times.
At one time, he was alleged to have taken the first victim into his room and used his fingers to penetrate her anus and private area.
On another occasion, the man allegedly bribed the second victim with his phone and took her into his room and committed the same act on her.
On Nov 22, at about 10am, the first victim went to her mother at a market and told her that the man had been sexually abusing her sister so she should go and check on her.
When questioned, the man denied the allegations.
He was later arrested by the community who took him to the police station.
After an interview, he was charged with two counts of persistent sexual abuse.
