LEADING IT company Datec PNG and No.1 newspaper The National have teamed up to bring the latest news about PNG to online readers in the country and around the world.
The partnership took off yesterday with Datec launching its new website   –www.datec.com.pg– a powerhouse portal that contains a wealth of information from Datec’s latest products and services to news and information about PNG.
Leading news, business, sports and human interest stories are uploaded on to the Datec website five nights a week by staff of The National.
The new website also has a dedicated section for PNG: About PNG.
Within this PNG-dedicated section, Datec is sharing PNG news supplied by The National, besides PNG activities, cultural events, PNG industries and PNG-made products.
Datec has collected data from a range of sources to present the best possible aspects of PNG to its 7,000 average weekly visitors from more than 20 countries.
“The new Datec website brings easier ways to interact with Datec, whether for understanding what Datec offers the PNG customers and communities, through to an easy place for job applicants to register their interest in joining the leading information communication technology (ICT) solutions and business services provider in PNG,” according to Datec’s chief executive officer, Bhanu Sud.
“The new website introduces Datec’s new world-class training centres – the Datec learning centers (DLC), in partnership with Unitech, listing of all current courses, ways to register and Datec’s management development programmes – all aiming to support the improvement of skills across the PNG workforce.
“The new website will give regular updates on the introduction of new services and solutions to the PNG marketplace – recent additions of document management, vehicle tracking and fuel management, Apple authorised reseller are just some examples of Datec’s drive to improve offerings within PNG.
“The website has a dedicated area for our Internet and value-added services, reinforcing the multi-million kina upgrade committed to the Datec internet network, with customers already enjoying the benefit of improved speeds and availability across the Datec network.”
The National’s associate editor, Sanjay Bhosale, said the partnership with Datec gives PNG’s leading daily newspaper an important platform to bring its news and features to a global audience.
