MIDDLE Beach residents of Gabutu-Konebada found a dead dolphin washed up on their beach last Thursday.
Resident Jimmy Ronson said the dead dolphin was spotted last Wednesday just off the shore.
“It must have been in a lot of pain as it kept twisting and turning in the water until it was washed up on the shore where it died,” Ronson said.
He said they believed the dolphin had been either burnt by an oil spill or by dynamite from the fishing vessels because the body was singed and bloated.
Another resident, John Ivoro, said that they were saddened by the dolphin’s death and were appealing to authorities to tell them how to dispose it.
“We are saddened because they are lifesavers of fishermen,” he said.
