Deadly tribal clashes

I WOULD like to express my concern about an ongoing tribal fight within Payne tribe of Laiagam district, Enga province.
The recent clash between two clans – Laias and Kalauk – has resulted in more than 50 lives already lost and properties worth over more than K500,000 destroyed during the past 14 months.
The villagers have fled and the place is turning into a desert.
Unfortunately, the West Enga Technical Secondary School is situated right in the heart of the tribal fight.
There have been several attempts at peace talks between the leaders of the two tribes, Aukun Chris Kapone and Johnny Kuima, but to no avail.
I think this is the right time for the local MP to step in and try to bring an end to this ongoing warfare.
Our lives are in your hands.
