Death penalty was wrong for the prisoners

IF anyone has a clear understanding on why the 12 prisoners have to be exterminated under the death penalty, explain to me after I shared my sentiment as to why death sentence on the 12 convicted criminals is unfair.

With due respect to the law, I wish to state that the prisoners committed their crimes on separate dates (before 2012) that were way before the said death penalty was billed.

Therefore, such cases should be dealt with and be subject to previous criminal laws and not to the current death penalty.

I think the current death penalty should apply to those who had committed their crimes worth the penalty after it has been legalised in parliament.

Though the criminals committed crimes worthy of the death penalty, their crimes were committed before the death penalty bill was passed and as such should be subject to other criminal laws before the death penalty and not the death penalty.
