Deaths of parliament members puzzling

Letters

I AM puzzled about the unprecedented deaths of our current sitting MPs and the most recent was Sumkur MP Chris Yer Nangoi bringing the total to nine MPs, the highest ever in the history of our beloved nation.
As per the doctor’s report, many may have died due to underlying health issues while our Deputy Prime Minister late Sam Basil died in a car accident.
Not to mention, chief executive officers of state entities, managing directors, directors, senior staff, government employees, former MPs etc.
All these deaths occurred within a year.
One comes to wonder if someone cursed this nation?
If so, this is the result of all these unprecedented deaths.
And more deaths will underpin even after the voting as it is calculated, deaths have occurred before nomination and after the nomination as well as during the campaign period and it will continue to maybe during the voting period and even after the voting period or who knows.
By looking at the trend, it is most likely to transpire that way.
Nevertheless, the Coronavirus (Covid-19) had brought the world to its feet with millions of people dying and Papua New Guinea was no exception with deaths also recorded.
Developed countries were able to be contained with strict measures being observed and followed as in the case of PNG too while few with attitude problems continue to ignore basing their views on their beliefs surrounding their customs and traditions.
Millions of Covid-19 monies did not reach rural areas of PNG despite cities and towns receiving their share of Covid-19 medical equipment. Despite all that, the final report of Covid-19 fund is yet to be tabled and made public for everyone’s benefit.

Unprecedented
