Defence Force sends vehicles to barracks

THE Defence Force has sent 25 vehicles to the Igam Barracks in Morobe, Moem Barracks in East Sepik and Forward Operation Base in Vanimo.
They were transported by sea from Napa Napa wharf.
They included ambulances, tow trucks, troop carriers, buses and Hammer vehicles donated by the Chinese government last year. Four troop carriers and one field kitchen truck, a wrecker slip tow and an ambulance are bound for Moem Barracks.
Two troop carriers are for Vanimo, West Sepik.
Eight troop carriers, two field kitchen trucks with mobile kitchens attached, a Hammer vehicle and two buses are for the Igam Barracks.
Defence Secretary Hari John Akipe saw off the vehicles in Port Moresby.
Akipe said it was important that these vehicles reached the units quickly.
“These vehicles are needed by soldiers to perform their duties.”
