DEFENCE FC proved they are the team to watch after smashing Gerehu-based Yamaros FC 4-0 in a one-sided affair in the main game of the Port Moresby Soccer Association Super League last Sunday at the Bisini soccer grounds.

Defence were superior in all departments out-playing Yamaros allowing striker Pettyshen Elizah to belt home a hat-trick of three goals in the second half to seal the game for the army boys.

Defence scored their first goal in the first half after a good flow of passing football that saw the ball slipping under Yamaros goalkeeper Paul Peter just before half-time.

Elizah blasted home three unanswered goals in the second half to the delight of the supporters.

Yamaros FC, with the inclusion of three national youth players in John Ray, Patrick Aisa and Chuckston Aopi tried hard but their opponents’ backline led by Australian Lachlan McGovern proved too good.

The win, however, could be disputed as Yamaros are expected to lodge a complaint with the PMSA Appeals Committee claiming that Elizah played for University last week.

Results: University 2 Hardrocks 0, Rapatona 1 Maclarens 1, Cosmos 2 Blue Kumuls 0, PS Rutz 1 Momase 0.
