Defer inquiry

Letters

IF the Prime Minister James Marape can defer projects such as the 2022 National Census due to Covid-19, we kindly urge him to defer the commission of inquiry (COI) that has cost tax payers K28million.
He should direct the funds into buying personal protective equipment (PPE) for schools throughout the nation since the schools will resume next week.
Right now, the COI is not important but the safety of our school children both in tertiary level and primary schools.
This COI must be delayed or deferred until when the situation returns to normal.
People and businesses are badly affected.
The government should be realistic.
Lives of teachers and children are very important.
Most schools and tertiary institutions have reported not having sufficient funds to purchase PPEs to protect themselves.
In that scenario, the government should defer the COI and divert the allocated K28 million for COI into buying PPEs.
Be realistic.
