THE deferral of the Papua New Guinea Darts Federation annual general meeting smells fishy and highly questionable, an official says.

The federation’s public relation officer Jayso James said the meeting was now deferred to March 27 and the venue would be Madang and not Lae as initially planned.

James said the excuse for this change was baseless and was not going down well in consultation with the dart fraternity in the country.

“We as mandated executives must abide by the constitution and perform what is required by it. We must not bend or come up with individual laws that do not serve the interest of the code and its member affiliates.”

James said the reason behind the postponement of the meeting by the president should reflect back on his performance since 2013.

The public relations officer said the member affiliates deserved better from their annual affiliations and registration fees every year and had every right to delay if they believed that something was wrong from the top management entrusted to lead and serve them.

James revealed that since 2013 there was no presentation of financial reports on the national championship held in Madang, 2014 national club championship held in Lae and the 2015 club championships also held in Lae.

He said the affiliates were entitled to such information.

The only financial report presented was on the 2015 national titles held in Port Moresby which Port Moresby Dart Association took full responsibility in hosting from the PNG Dart Federation because of past experience of non-submission of financial reports.

James appealed to all dart associations in the country not to affiliate or register until the federation executives furnished all outstanding financial reports.
