THREE local-level council presidents of Dei district in Western Highlands discussed working in collaboration to deliver services to their people.
In a meeting with MP and Minister for Immigration and Border Security Westly Nukundj on Wednesday, the three – Muglamp’s John Bagl, Kotna’s Jerry Anis and Mala-Kinjibi’s Rodney Rot – discussed the way forward for Dei.
Nukundj said it was the first for presidents to join hands and corporate with him by putting aside their differences for the betterment of the people.
Bagl said he was grateful that the minister had agreed to meet them and hear what they had to put forward.
“We have had our political difference but these must not stop us from delivering to the people of Dei,” he said.
“Our coming here to meet with the minister signifies our desire to put all these aside and think about the people and start delivering to those who have mandated us,” Bagl said.
He said after seven years of this, last year’s LLG election for Dei was successful.
The three LLGs of Dei where declared failed in the previous LLG election in 2013.
