Delightlful surprise for duo

National

ONE of The National’s masthead winners, Renagi Wala’s, entry was dropped off on Monday and the next day he received a call.
“Just before I got the mastheads call, I called my son to confirm if he dropped off the envelope,” he said. “It’s amazing, I didn’t expect it.”
Wala plans to buy a birthday cake for his only daughter with the prize money.
Meanwhile, class was interrupted for Natalie Kaia, who attends Tokarara High School, who received a surprise visit from her mum with news of her win.
“I just completed my test when the security guard came to tell me my mom was visiting,” Kaia said.
The 19-year-old from Southern Highlands was thrilled and was excused from class to claim her money.
Kaia lives at Morata Two and takes K5 to school every day for bus fare and lunch money. The K250 prize will be saved for her bus fares for two months.
