Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu to support convention

INTERNATIONAL accounting and advisory firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu has announced that it is backing the PNG entrepreneurship community and Startup PNG Convention as a knowledge partner.
As part of its support for the convention, Deloitte will become a silver sponsor and provide a series of focused 30-minute session next Wednesday and Thursday on important foundational knowledge area that may be of use to Papua New Guinean entrepreneurs at all stages of business maturity. These sessions are:

  • The ‘Lifecycle of a business;
  • what to know when starting up a business;
  • cash-flow and budgeting;
  • financial fundamentals;
  • operational priorities; and,
  • Navigating tax.

Benjamin Lee, managing partner Deloitte PNG, said Deloitte was committed to the country and its people.
Lee viewed the commitment to PNG entrepreneurship as critical to the future development of PNG.
“We are very happy to support the convention and to use the opportunity to provide information and training to many entrepreneurs who are interested to learn on these topics from our experts.
“Our accountants and advisers will also be available at the Convention to act as a sounding board for entrepreneurs and SMEs on issues they are facing and provide insight across pain points,” he said.
Chairman of the convention organiser, The Kumul Foundation Inc, Anthony Smaré, acknowledged Deloitte for their support.
