Dept farewells outgoing secretary

THE Department of Mining, Policy and Geohazards Management Secretary Shadrach Himata was farewelled yesterday.
He has been with the department as secretary since its establishment in 2008.
During the launching of the department’s five-year corporate and strategic plan in Port Moresby yesterday, Chief Secretary Isaac Lupari thanked him for his contributions and assistance to the department to achieve its objectives and goals.
Himata told The National that he would be serving in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville as the Mining Secretary.
“My position has been gazetted so from here I’ll be moving straight to ABG,” he said.
“I’ll be starting on March 13, 2017, and serving the Bougainville government.”
Mining Minister Byron Chan also thanked him for his commitment, dedication and drive.
Harry Kore will be the acting.
