Dept given ok to process applications for position

A COURT has given the green light to the Personnel Management Department to process applications for the position of director-general of the National Intelligence Organisation.
National Court judge Nicholas Miviri yesterday threw out an application for a stay order on the recruitment process filed by Col Otto Pandum who claimed he had already been appointed to the position.
Miviri ruled that the recruitment process to be carried out by the department should proceed.
Pandum sought the stay order after acting secretary of the department Taies Sansan had put out an advertisement last month calling for applications to the NIO director-general’s position, while a judicial review of his case was pending in court.
He had challenged Cabinet’s decision to revoke his appointment.
