Dept launches new centre

 THE Department of Trade, Commerce and Industry has launched its World Trade Organisation Reference Centre.

The centre which was set up in the Trade division of the Department in 2014 was opened last week by the Secretary for Trade, Commerce and Industry John Andrias.

Andrias said the main purpose of the centre was to disseminate information on WTO matters among stakeholders. 

He said it was an important tool for addressing Papua New Guinea’s trade information gaps.

Users will be able to conduct desktop and literature research on international trade using the facilities at the centre.
