THE Department of Provincial and Local Government Affairs will be working closely with the Morobe administration to establish and roll out the ward record book system in the province.
This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties yesterday in Lae, Morobe, to have ward recorders out in the province recording accurate, reliable, and up-to-date data for provincial and local level planning and important government projects.
The department’s acting secretary Joseph Warus said the ward development record was an important tool in bottom-up planning from wards to districts and the provinces.
Warus said ward records would be useful in planning for all agencies.
“This is one of the priority programme that we’re looking at, it has live data of everything that is available on the ground and we will work closely with you (Morobe government) not only in this project, but others too,” he said.
