Dept receives boats from firm

FOUR fibre glass banana boats (23ft long) with 60 horsepower outboard motors and trailers were received by the Department of Provincial and Local Government Affairs (DPLGA) secretary Dickson Guina from Badili Ela Motors in Port Moresby yesterday.
The boats will be presented to participating LLGs in three provinces under the Rural Services Delivery Project (RSDP).
Guina said the boats would be used to facilitate the delivery of RSDP projects in the selected provinces and their LLGs.
“These boats should enable the transportation for the selected LLGs to facilitate the delivery of project materials as well as assisting in monitoring all the project related activities in those piloted provinces and LLGs,” he said.
The participating LLGs are Aroma Coast LLG in Central which will receive one boat, Fly Kiwai LLG and Lake Murray LLG in Western which will receive one boat each, East Wapei LLG and Yangkok LLG in West Sepik receiving one boat.
The three boats for Western and Central province were received by the DPLGA yesterday
Guina said for West Sepik, it would be delivered to them by the Ela Motors branch in the province.
The Aroma Coast LLG in Central would receive its boat this week.
