Did Marape conspire with the Speaker?

Letters

I BELIEVE the Government conspired with the Speaker Job Pomat and illegally convened Parliament sitting on Nov 17 when they learnt that the Opposition flew out of Port Moresby to Vanimo.
The Opposition were caught off guard by this decision.
Marape probably used the absence of the Opposition MPs who were stranded in Vanimo to undo their actions and escape the planned motion of no confidence.
During the Nov 17 sitting, Marape and 50 government MPs were the only ones present.
The government passed the 2021 Budget of K19.6 billion without debate.
They amended the membership of the Parliamentary Business Committee by replacing opposition MPs with their members.
Parliament was then adjourned to April 20 2021, giving the government five months of breathing space.
As far as Pomat was concerned, parliament was still in the budget session.
Why did he wait until a day before parliament was to reconvene to recall a sitting?
If he had issued his decision on the day the adjournment was made, the Opposition would have received adequate notice to prepare itself.
Further worse then, initially, parliament was recalled to sit at 2pm and then moved forward to 10am, thus making it impossible for the Opposition MPs to fly into Port Moresby in time for the session.
The Speaker’s action deprived the Opposition the chance to challenge Marape in parliament and debate the 2021 Budget.
