Digicel connects Western

TELCO Digicel has launched its cell phone services in Western last week, thus further strengthening its position in most parts of the southern region.
It said with this improvement, there would be much clearer network coverage, affordable handsets, cheaper call and short message services (SMS) rates and promotions to give the people more value for their money.
Digicel PNG chief executive officer John Mangos said: “We are proud to extend our services to Western.
“Digicel is excited to bring affordable and reliable communication to the most remote areas in PNG.
“We aim to bring communication into areas that have never had any form of telecommunication coverage before. In addition, we plan on launching more new sites around the country,” he said.
Business houses, community leaders, police and Defence Force officers were also there.
