DIGICEL PNG has launched a new offer that gives free data to all users of smartphones in the country.
Digicel’s managing director, Mobile, Shivan Bhargava said the offer would enable customers to receive up to 6GB of free data for six months valid for seven days once they buy any smartphone and insert a new or existing Digicel SIM card.
He announced this yesterday during launching at the headquarters in Port Moresby.
Bhargava explained that the 6GB free data could be used as 1GB free data per month for six months, valid for one week and valued at K250.
“Our goal is to see everyone have smartphones and becoming digitally independent and mobile independent,” Bhargava said.
“No other mobile phone retailer in PNG has ever had such an attractive offer like this new Digicel promotion.
“We’re very excited to make smartphones more accessible to our loyal customers and help them keep in touch with their wantoks across the country.
“By offering this added value to customers, we are enabling them to fully enjoy and participate in the knowledge economy through the gift of data.”
Bhargava said the offer could only be redeemed once every six months per SIM card where after six months, the same SIM card could be used to redeem the offer again but it would only be used with a brand new smartphone and not the same smartphone.
He said the free seven day 1GB of data must be used within the same month once activated which means it would not roll over to the next month.
“This offer is only available to prepaid customers,” he said.
