Digicel launches TV station

DIGICEL PNG on Wednesday has launched its TV station in the country called Digicel Play.

Chief executive officer John Mangos said with the platform Digicel Play, the station would offer 29 channels in the first two months including its free new channel TVWAN.

Some of these channels include HBO, CNN, Fox Sports, Disney, and Nat Geo Wild among others.

Customers can purchase a Digicel Play box (Set Top Box) at a Digicel outlet and connect it to their own TV.

In urban areas, the box will work with an indoor or outdoor aerial, while in more rural areas there would be a dish solution to ensure accessibility to the TV station.

The National was informed that Digicel Play box prices were determined by customers’ locations.

For people urban areas is K250, semi-rural K400, rural K500 and more remote K650.

The urban Play boxes come with instructions on how to set up while the remote play box will need technical specialists.
