Diocese staff practice meditation during retreat

THE Lae Catholic Diocesan staff have undergone a retreat after some years, with meditation sessions at St Joseph’s Technical School in Lae, Morobe.
The sessions were offered last weekend by Indian certified trainer in heart-fullness meditation Sujata Keni.
Keni said meditating was about consciousness and having positive thoughts.
Many of the staff later came up with a positive response.
The meditation also helped staff relax as part of health practice.
“Heart-fullness is a sub-conscious level meditation,” Keni said.
“The heart-fullness practice relaxes body, regulates, mind and helps tune into the heart.
“Continued practice of heart-fullness mediation helps individuals to cultivate deeper inner-connectedness, enhance self-clarity and personal effectiveness and experience inner harmony and balance essential for inner wellness.”
Keni said the essence of heart-fullness lay in its experience and the simplicity with which it was integrated into daily routine.
Lae Diocese Bishop Rozario Menezes said the retreat was to enhance their relationship with God while working for the church.
“It strengthens their relationship with God and finds meaning in what they do. It also gives a meaning to what they do for love of God,” he said.
“This is a spiritual break and gives meaning to life.
“The meditation helps quieten ourselves from our busy world, give little bit of time for ourselves.”
