Disruption at grand final was because of referee

I AM a NSL supporter and I am a fan of Morobe teams participating in the NSL competition.

I have read a lot of negative comments about Lae soccer fans’ behaviour during the grand final on May 24.

At the outset, I must say that the Lae soccer fans have shown NSL that they love the game and that was shown to the NSL executives and organisers when the stadium was packed.

Does this kind of crowd turn up for soccer in Port Moresby?

If not, then do not threaten Lae soccer fans about staging future grand finals away from Lae as reported.

In fact, all the spectators witnessed the incident that happened in the course of the match was because of the referees conduct.

The Hekari FC players committed the same offence but were not penalised.

Instead, the referee was picking on Lae players.

However, I salute John Kapi Natto for the football standard maintained and displayed by Hekari FC.

I believe the sponsors of Morobe teams or Lae based clubs should do the same by hiring players from the Pacific Islands or other countries so that they can go toe to toe with the Hekari club.
