Goilala MP and deputy leader of Pangu Pati William Samb presented a K30,000 cheque to his district in preparation for the upcoming local-level-government (LLG) elections.
He said the district development authority allocated the money for their three LLG members to start preparing logistics.
Samb, who has assumed the portfolio of Minister Assisting the Prime Minister, said Goilala had 24,000 voters covering 30 wards.
“We have major logistics issues and the district development authority,” he said of his district.
Samb said the three LLGs will share the money .
“These preparations are important because previously we had 24 wards in Goilala but now they have increased that to over 30 wards,” he said.
He said funding was not for politicians to manipulate the voters but allow ward presidents to do their work.
“Small it may be but we need to be seen to doing something then help will come in,” he said.
“We can’t continue to blame DDA and government because some of these things can be done by ourselves,” Samb said.
President for Woitape LLG Joe Geru said LLGs had been facing funding issues.
