A SENIOR agricultural project manager was dumbfounded to learn that administrators of Lufa, in Eastern Highlands, have abandoned their district offices to operate from Goroka.
The World Bank and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) financed coffee rehabilitation project in Papua New Guinea Potaisa Hombunka was surprised to see unoccupied modern set-up of the district administration office, treasury and BSP branch all still in good condition.
Hombunaka travelled to Lufa station for the first time on Friday to attend the launching of Huwa Coffee Farmers Corporative Society Ltd.
“To my horror I was told that after 2002 the DAs (district administrators), treasury and other public servants have operated out of Goroka or elsewhere,” he said.
