MILNE Bay Governor Gordon Wesley has told public servants in the province to do their job or get sacked for non-performance.
Speaking to heads of government bodies in Alotau recently, Wesley said: “Milne Bay top administration is incompetent.”
He urged them to start delivering services to people out in remote areas.
“Things are not moving. The public service machinery is not working. Why are people all piling in my office? It is time I start getting rid of incompetent people. I want to see things move.
“People in the rural areas are the most vulnerable ones. My job as governor is to knock on doors in Waigani and look for money. You public servants are professionals and should not rely on me to tell you how to do your jobs.
“Money is there, you go ahead identify projects and fund them.”
Wesley said he had written to the National Fisheries Authority seeking help for locals in Kiriwina- Goodenough and Esa’ala.
