LAMANA Dockers and West Eagles will face-off in the Port Moresby Australian Football League (POMAFL) round six match at Colts Oval tomorrow (3pm kick-off).
This is a top-4 clash in the men’s premier division. Eagles are currently leading the eight-team competition with a perfect record of five straight wins while the fourth-placed Dockers have won two matches and have recorded three losses after the fifth round.
Dockers and Eagles are old rivals in the POMAFL competition and it does not help that both teams are from West New Britain.
Eagles coach John Timothy told The National yesterday that his men know what to expect from the Dockers.
“I expect a strong tussle from both teams. The team with less errors and more ball possession should win the game,” Timothy said.
“We know that Dockers have recruited some of the young guns from Kokofas and they have been combining well with the Dockers senior players.
“I would say our strength is defence, speed, ball control and team work.
“We respect every team and we take one game at a time.”
Dockers have great talents in Archie Mai, young Allan Sevara and Thaddeus Tauka, and also Hapeo Bobogi who are expected to lead from the front.
In the forward lines the Dockers have Bena Michael, young David Sevara, Sebby Gelu who are good goal shooters.
