The Lamana Dockers Football Club have received three sets of jerseys worth K20,000 from Tura Sports.
With the Port Moresby AFL premiership heading into its last round, the jerseys will give the Dockers added motivation to finish on a high this weekend.
Club president Loi Bakani, pictured, thanked Tura Sports for being the first local company to sponsor the Dockers.
“We are very happy that Tura produced 75 pieces — 25 pieces of uniforms for each of the three divisions,” Bakani said.
“We are looking forward to secure the sponsorship and continue the support in the years to come.”
He said the Dockers would love to make their sponsors proud by making the finals.
“We have been in very good shape in this year’s competition and we hope to end this year’s competition with flying achievements,” Bakani said.
“All our teams are leading their respective divisions and we hope to complete this weekend’s last regular round on high note with the new sets of uniforms.”
Tura Sports managing director Dadi Toka Jr said he was delighted to work with a well-organised club such as the Dockers in the Port Moresby AFL premiership.
Toka said the sponsorship was not a last-minute decision, but a well-thought-out move the managements of the Dockers and Tura talked about for some time.
He said Tura was very proud to be part of the Dockers family.
