Don’t award knighthood to just anybody

THERE are certainly too many knights in PNG.

Those who deserve to be knighted are former kiaps and selfless people who serve in rural communities and very difficult situations. But since nobody at Waigani knows about them, things will continue as it is.

It seems anyone can now get a “Sir” to put in in front of his name.

The Queen’s award has completely lost its meaning in PNG.

Why does the government not wait for two to three years before awarding such titles instead of every year?
