Don Bosco opens two-storey building

Faith

It was a moment of celebration when the 900-plus students of Don Bosco Technical School (DBTS) sang harmoniously to open their 2024 academic year and a new two-storey building.
The holy mass was attended by several prominent individuals in the Catholic faith held at the Don Bosco Gabutu’s Korongku Hall in Port Moresby, following the official opening of the new two-storey administration building.
Archbishop of Port Moresby, Cardinal Sir John Ribat, celebrated the mass with rector of DBTS, Fr Pedro Sachitula, Fr Ambrose Pereira, Fr Shoji Mathew and Fr Albert Swer.
During the holy mass, Cardinal Sir John emphasised the importance of having faith in God and connecting with Christ, whom he described as the “source of our lives”.
While embracing the theme of the year, “The Dream that Makes You Dream”, Cardinal Sir John highlighted the mission of St Don Bosco, both in Papua New Guinea and worldwide.
Sachitula urged Salesian educators and students to pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance and blessings as they embarked on the new school year.
The school presented Cardinal Sir John with a birthday cake and celebrated with him to mark the new school year, and the opening of the new two-storey admin building.
