Donations are aimed at growing communities to help in nation-building, Bank South Pacific (BSP) Mt Hagen branch manager Theresa Pilamp says.
“We have been in operation for more than 40 years reaching and serving customers from as far as Southern Highlands, Enga, Jiwaka and Chimbu,” she said.
“We are giving the kind of support that can help stimulate socio-economic growth.”
Pilamp spoke at the handing over of a new basketball court, 20 new desks and a 9,000-litre Tuffa tank to Minj T Primary School in South Waghi’s Anglimp in Jiwaka.
BSP Group chairman Sir Kostas Constantinou and chief executive officer Robin Fleming attended the presentation last month.
Pilamp said BSP decided to bring its community project to Jiwaka for the first time as “it is home to two of our sub-branches, Minj and Banz”.
“We have invested K305,000 since 2009 through 13 projects in Western Highlands and Jiwaka this year,” she said.
“We will continue to invest in community projects to help sustainable socio-economic growth.”
BSP’s Mt Hagen branch manages four sub-branches – Banz and Minj in Jiwaka, Tambul and Kerowagi.
