Don’t be selfish, wear face masks

Letters

IT is frustrating to see commuters, especially on PMV’s, not adhering to the mask policy.
I am happy to have the buses operating as this is a vital and cheaper form of transport.
We have been crying for this service but yet we are not adhering to the safety measures.
The defence force and police should be monitoring the main bus stops. There was a call-out for them to partake in implementing safety measures and this should be one of them.
Get them involved on the ground. Commuters who have no masks should be told to get off.
We have to be proactive in this and not being reactive.
The drivers and bus crews cannot do so much and cannot reject the passenger without the mask.
It is a fight to earn or reject their bread and butter.
On the other hand, it is vital that every commuter know that the onus is solely on them.
If you do not want to wear a mask, stay at home.
It is simply rude, being disrespectful and having no consideration for your fellow country men and women.
