Dry weather coming soon says Maiha

THE National Weather Service says the country will have clearer skies and dry weather in the second week of this month, from today.
This, however, was just the calm before the storm as torrential downpour was forecast for February.
Director Samuel Maiha told The National yesterday that no warnings were given to airlines and shipping vessels. Maiha said the country was having less rain with normal north-west winds this week.
Many parts of the country, including the National Capital District, which have been experiencing heavy rain since Jan 1, can expect a temporary respite.
Maiha said the country was likely to have light rain and dry weather for at least a week, starting today.
“December to May is a wet season. All the rain for this month has been received in the last seven days. In the next second week of the month, we will not receive heavy rain like we received in the first seven days. We will not even have completely dry weather as well.”
Maiha urged the people to be always cautious of the weather pattern and brace themselves for wet weeks next month.
